Our Mission

We believe that all kids deserve a safe, fun and supportive community. At the Boys & Girls Club we nurture, value and inspire our young people. We build usable skills, enhance self esteem and promote a culture of high expectations.

Our History

The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Salem is celebrating our 150th Anniversary in 2019. In April 1869, the Salem Fraternity for Boys, our founding organization, opened its doors at 175 Essex Street to a facility consisting of an amusement room, a reading room, and a school/work room. Today, we serve over 400 kids annually in three different locations.

Our Programs

We provide targeted programs that are designed to support academic achievement and engagement, as well as good character, citizenship and healthy lifestyles. We provide after school and teen programs, as well as a fun and educational summer camp experience.
