Friday, August 25th was the last day of camp at the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Salem. The campers had a wonderful summer filled with exciting field trips to beaches, parks, museums, islands and amusement parks. Their days started with Brain Gain, a summer learning loss prevention program. Breakfast and Lunch were kindly provided by the Salem Meals program through the school department. They provided the meals through the second to last day of camp. When our Camp Director asked me to see if I could find a community partner to provide a great lunch for our campers' last day, I asked Gayla Bartlett from Chick-fil-A. Gayla immediately said yes and went above and beyond by offering their mascot to entertain our children. The mascot and Brian from their Peabody location arrived at the Club, interacted with the children, took photos and handed out the most delicious Chick-fil-A sandwich and cookie to all campers including our teens and to our staff. They had a few left over anddelivered those to other employees in our Middle School. Thank you for putting smiles on all the campers and staff faces. A wonderful way to end the summer. The children will definitely "Eat Mor Chikin" as the mascot's sign says.
